Hi Friends! Whew! Week one down. A whole lot more to go. I spent my first weekend prepping more centers and working on newsletters and other misc. things for my classroom. I am one exhausted teacher. It has been raining non- stop here too so the kids have not been able to go outside and play. I feel bad for them. Each day they look at me with their bright eyes and ask if they can go outside. Boo to rainy days!!
Anyhow, I am linking up with Tara from 4th Grade Frolics to share with you some things I made for my class. My to- do list is a mile long & I am thrilled to get a few of these things off of my list.
Project 1: My Crayola Pencil Cube
My old one just wasn't cutting it so it was about time I made a new one. I purchased the pencil cube on sale for $4 at Office Max.
The final product- I added ribbon and mod podge. A fun & easy craft!
Project #2- More Pencil Holders
Sorry I didn't take pictures of each step. I wanted to make some pen holders for the secretaries at my school so I whipped these up real quick. I recycled my cans after dinner...lol...wrapped some scrapbook paper around and added a ribbon. This took me about 15 minutes.
Project #3- Crayon Wreath
This was actually my second attempt- I wasn't too happy with the first one. I'm not quite done, I still need to some ribbon and spice it up a bit. I didn't want to align the crayons in any particular order, so I just dumped out the box grabbed 'em and glued 'em down.
I used mod podge again
On another note, my blog makeover is in it's final stages!!! YIPEE! There are just a few minor tweaks that need to be made. It's been such a long road for me finding a design that truly "screamed me", if that makes any sense. I've spent countless hours scouring the web for a design that I loved. Whenever I found something that I loved, the designer either had a long waiting list, or it was way out of my price range. While I liked my other design, I just wasn't "over the moon" with it.
But this time around, I completely love it. Terri from The Creative Apple is amazing to work with! I found her through Alicia from the Bubbly Blonde. Terri is a teacher herself so I knew I would be supporting our wonderful circle of friends. As soon as my makeover is complete I plan to celebrate by throwing a fun giveaway. So make sure to check back soon!
Have a great week everyone!

Would you suggest starting with a free platform like Wordpress or go for a paid option?
