Monday Made It!

August 27, 2012
Hi Friends! Whew! Week one down. A whole lot more to go. I spent my first weekend prepping more centers and working on newsletters and other misc. things for my classroom. I am one exhausted teacher. It has been raining non- stop here too so the kids have not been able to go outside and play. I feel bad for them. Each day they look at me with their bright eyes and ask if they can go outside. Boo to rainy days!!

Anyhow, I am linking up with Tara from 4th Grade Frolics to share with you some things I made for my class. My to- do list is a mile long & I am thrilled to get a few of these things off of my list.

Project 1: My Crayola Pencil Cube

My old one just wasn't cutting it so it was about time I made a new one. I purchased the pencil cube on sale for $4 at Office Max.

The final product- I added ribbon and mod podge. A fun & easy craft!

Project #2- More Pencil Holders

Sorry I didn't take pictures of each step. I wanted to make some pen holders for the secretaries at my school so I whipped these up real quick. I recycled my cans after dinner...lol...wrapped some scrapbook paper around and added a ribbon. This took me about 15 minutes.

Project #3- Crayon Wreath
This was actually my second attempt- I wasn't too happy with the first one. I'm not quite done, I still need to some ribbon and spice it up a bit. I didn't want to align the crayons in any particular order, so I just dumped out the box grabbed 'em and glued 'em down.

I used mod podge again

On another note, my blog makeover is in it's final stages!!! YIPEE! There are just a few minor tweaks that need to be made. It's been such a long road for me finding a design that truly "screamed me", if that makes any sense. I've spent countless hours scouring the web for a design that I loved. Whenever I found something that I loved, the designer either had a long waiting list, or it was way out of my price range. While I liked my other design, I just wasn't "over the moon" with it.

But this time around, I completely love it. Terri from The Creative Apple is amazing to work with! I found her through Alicia from the Bubbly Blonde. Terri is a teacher herself so I knew I would be supporting our wonderful circle of friends. As soon as my makeover is complete I plan to celebrate by throwing a fun giveaway. So make sure to check back soon!

Have a great week everyone!

I am exhausted.

August 17, 2012
Oh boy has it been a rough week for me. I recruited my troops (hubby, kids, sister, nieces, nephews, & basically anyone that would help!!) to assist me in getting my room together in 4 days. I basically lived at school during that time arriving at 6:30 a.m. and leaving by 6pm.  I am finally done! There are just a few minor things to print and hang but I am beat- physically and mentally. I probably will be emotionally exhausted after my first day on Monday...lol! I have 17 little ones so far and two with special needs. I hope to get in as much rest and relaxation before returning. I promise to post pictures of my room soon.

I'm also linking up with Nancy from Joy of Kindergarten to share with you the 5 things I miss about summer. At this rate, I think I can come up with 100.

1. I definitely miss the gorgeous beaches of Maui. Next summer I definitely want to do some island hopping and see the other Hawaiian Islands.

2. Being on vacation! Did I tell you how much I miss Maui?

3. Shopping! {while on vacation of course} There is no Michael's or Hobby Lobby in Hawaii so I definitely had to stock up.

4. Crafting! I'm definitely not going to have enough time to try to make all those awesome things for my classroom that I see on pinterest.

5. And lastly, I just miss the FREEDOM that summer gave me. The thought of not having to wake up so early, or iron clothes for work....AH! Who's with me on counting down to next summer? hahaha.

Hop on over to Nancy's blog by clicking the picture below and share the things you miss about summer.

Have a great weekend!!

Currently....A u g u s t *

August 8, 2012
August already....say it isn't so?! Only one more week until I start school and I am not the slightest bit ready. My team & I will be testing our little ones in the morning all next week so I'm really going to have to recruit the Mr. and some family members to help me get the job done. I've been under the weather and still have a lingering cough so I really don't want to go into my dusty room until I'm 100%. I've enjoyed *blog stalking* and checking out everyone's classrooms which has given me lots of new ideas :)

Anyhow, I'm linking up with the fabulous Farley from Oh' Boy 4th Grade to share with you my latest currently:

My B2S must- haves are definitely;
- Scrapbook/ Cardstock Paper
- Ribbon- I am addicted! I use them all over my classroom for anything & everything!!
- Gluesticks- I simply can't live without them!!

BTW, have you seen those hilarious Target back-to-school commercials? They just crack me up. I remember how hilarious last years' commercial was too!! lol :)

Have a great day friends!!
